You qualify

Keep your clients. Drive every one of them covered.

Turn your best riders into your own private clients.

Every business starts with zero clients.

Personal auto policies typically don’t cover paid rides. A commercial policy of your own costs $800 to $1,200 per month. HUM covers the private rides you log for roughly a tenth of that.

Rideshare apps set the fare, take their cut, and decide who you drive. With HUM, you can turn one-time riders into repeat clients. You set your rates, keep 100% of the fare, and the riders are yours.

Coverage comes first: you need it before you can legally take your first private client. A traditional commercial policy costs $800 to $1,200 per month, whether you drive or not. HUM is one flat membership.

One Phoenix driver went from two clients to 175 contacts in 18 months.

Your HUM membership

Billed monthly · Cancel any time · No contract · No setup fee

One thing to know first: HUM doesn’t send you rides. You bring the clients — HUM handles the insurance and compliance.

What HUM is is an insurance policy that legally allows you to take rides on your own terms, command your own price, collect your own money, and build your own book of business.
Erik · HUM driver, Santa Rosa, CA

HUM isn’t an insurance company. The rides you log are covered under HUM’s commercial auto policy.

How drivers land their first clients

What HUM drivers told us worked for them.

  1. Offer the ride homeTake a rider to the airport on the apps, then offer to pick them up yourself on the way back. The return trip is the ask.
  2. Let them askPut a QR code in your window or carry a card. Riders who like your car and your service will ask how to book you again.
  3. Start with one regularOne referral, one regular airport run, or one repeat rider is enough to begin.

Before you activate

I don’t have private clients yet.

Some drivers come to HUM with a book of business. Others start from zero. But every driver started at zero once, and coverage comes first: you need it before you can legally take that first client. Unlike a traditional commercial policy that costs $800 to $1,200 per month whether you drive or not, HUM’s coverage is priced per mile on the rides you log, and your passenger pays for it in the fare. Once you’re active, one referral, one regular airport run, or one repeat rider is enough to begin. A HUM driver has earned as much as $8,000 in as few as 45 trips.

What if it doesn’t work for me?

It’s month to month. Cancel any time from your billing portal — no phone call, no cancellation fee, no contract to get out of. Your membership stays active through the month you’ve already paid for.

Is this legitimate?

Yes. HUM is a licensed Transportation Network Company with a commercial auto policy. When you run private rides through HUM, you drive under that policy, so you’re legal and every logged ride is covered. Proof of coverage is in your account once you activate.

Questions drivers ask before they start

Is this legal?

Yes. HUM is a licensed Transportation Network Company with a commercial auto policy. Every ride you log in the app runs under that policy, so you’re legal and covered. Proof of coverage is in your account once you activate.

Can I still drive for Uber and Lyft?

Yes, and most drivers do. We have no affiliation with Uber or Lyft and don’t dispatch rides, so the two run side by side. Many private clients start as app passengers.

What if I don’t get enough private clients?

The average private ride fare runs between $50 and $60, so a couple of rides can cover your monthly membership. Your first clients are usually already in your car: regulars, airport runs and anyone who’s asked to book you directly.

I’m not a salesperson. Can I really do this?

Yes. You need to be reliable, on time and good with people. Your riders already know you. You’re giving them a way to book you directly.

Does my car qualify?

Most sedans, SUVs and minivans qualify, including luxury vehicles. Not sure? Text (480) 914-6444 before you activate.

How long does setup take?

Under 10 minutes. Download the app, register and complete a standard background check.

How does the 50% off work?

Code PROFESSOR50 takes 50% off your first month at checkout. From month two, you pay your plan’s regular monthly price.
